Atletico Mineiro sign Ecuador international midfielder

Brazil's Atletico Mineiro have signed Ecuador international midfielder Juan Cazares, according to widespread media reports on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old has spent the past two years on loan at Argentina's Banfield from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle.

It is understood a key factor in Cazares' decision was Atletico Mineiro's qualification for next year's Copa Libertadores, South America's premier club competition.

Cazares has been capped 11 times for Ecuador and scored one goal.

His club career has also included spells at Ecuador's Barcelona and Argentina's River Plate. Endit
