Tokyo shares end mixed by break

Tokyo shares ended the morning session mixed on Tuesday with little investment cues after the market has absorbed effects of the policy moves by Japanese and U.S. central banks.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 23.21 points, or 0.12 percent, from Monday to 18,892.81.

In contrast, the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 1.87 points, or 0.12 percent, to 1,533.15. Endit
