Mexican ruling party delegation to visit China for closer ties with CPC

Xinhua, December 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

A high-ranking delegation from Mexico's ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) will visit China next year to reinforce its political ties with the Communist Party of China (CPC), a senior PRI official announced Sunday.

The trip is part of the PRI's efforts to tighten friendly ties with political parties around the world, said Lila Abed Ruiz, the PRI's secretary of international affairs.

Earlier this month, a PRI delegation attended the first forum of political parties between China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Beijing, which gathered the CPC and 27 parties from across the region.

"We have many targets which we can achieve if we work together," Ruiz told Xinhua.

According to a joint statement released at the closing of the forum, China and CELAC will give priority to strengthening cooperation in innovation, science and technology, education, energy and environmental protection.

A total of 1,200 political party officials from CELAC will be invited to visit China in the next five years as part of Beijing's efforts to boost party-to-party exchanges, said the document. Endi
