Singapore stocks close 0.26 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 7.29 points, or 0.26 percent, to close at 2,845.55.

A total of 911.1 million shares changed hands with turnover of 626.1 million Singapore dollars (443.5 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 205 to 171, while 551 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 8.34 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 2,852.84 on Dec. 18. Endit
