Russian low-cost airline Pobeda launched air connection from Bratislava to Moscow and back on Saturday.
"I am convinced that this air connection will create conditions for the development of trade, tourism in Slovakia as well as in Russia," announced Slovak Transport, Construction and Regional Development Ministry's State Secretary Frantisek Palko.
Palko attended the ceremony alongside with the airport's general director Ivan Trhlik and Russian Ambassador to Slovakia Alexey Leonidovich Fedotov.
"The new regular line will bring daily connection with Moscow and not just that. It means that passengers not just from Slovakia can travel to Moscow and via Moscow to further destinations in the Russian Federation and also to the Far East," added Trhlik.
Airplanes flying on this connection will be Boeing 737-800 Next Generation with a capacity of 189 passengers. Bratislava is the first abroad destination where Pobeda started flying, as before it was operating only domestic flights in Russia. Endit
