British FTSE 100 up 0.72 pct

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday increased by 0.72 percent, or 43.40 points, to 6,061.19 points.

Share price of Standard Chartered increased by 6.37 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Pearson, Rolls-Royce Holdings, Shire and Anglo American increased by 5.16 percent, 4.91 percent, 3.95 percent and 2.73 percent respectively.

ARM Holdings led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.95 percent, followed by Sports Direct International (1.55 percent), Mondi (1.28 percent), BG Group (1.08 percent) and Persimmon (0.91 percent). Endit
