Singapore warns of fake immigration website

Xinhua, December 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) issued a statement on Wednesday that it has noticed fake ICA websites that are phishing for visitors' visa numbers and passport numbers.

These two websites are www.sg-immigov.com and www.icaevisa.com. Another website that could purportedly "track visa" for Singapore is singaporevisagov.com/tracking-visa/.

The ICA advises the public to exercise caution so as not unwittingly fall prey to such fake websites. It also advises the public to use only the official ICA website at www.ica.gov.sg for all

informational and transactional needs concerning ICA matters. The ICA website keeps records of all foreign work passes and visas issued to foreign visitors.

"We would like to assure everyone that access to the official ICA website remains unaffected and no data has been compromised. ICA takes a serious view of such fake websites as they undermine public trust in our system and processes," ICA said.

ICA added that a police report has been made and it will work to continue monitor and bring down these websites. Endit
