Offside Call Technology perfected for new test

Xinhua, December 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Hungarian and Swedish scientists have perfected a real-time offside registering system, announced Monday by Workforms, Hungarian News Agency MTI reported.

Workforms, which was established to design the system, received about 1.3 million U.S. dollars from European Union to invent Offside Call Technology.

The new system registers offside situations with 95 percent accuracy and promises to be a great help to referees when having to make the offside call.

Testing will begin in February 2016, and the developers believe the technology will be used in the pitch in 2-3 years. Endit
