A teacher who claimed having been stabbed by possible Islamist State militant in France admitted he had lied about the assault, Le Figaro reported Monday afternoon, citing the prosecutor's office.
A teacher claimed he was stabbed at around 07:40 a.m. local time (0640 GMT) in a kindergarten in Aubervilliers in northern Paris suburbs, by a man who was believed to be a Islamic State (IS) militant.
According to the teacher, whose life is not in danger now, the perpetrator shouted "it's Daech, it is a warning" while attacking him. Daesh is an Arabic acronym used commonly in France to refer to the IS.
In the November edition of its French-language magazine Dar al-Islam, the IS called for its followers to kill teachers in the French education system, describing them as "enemies of Allah."
"The terrorist threat is real and permanent and all public places must be protected, especially schools," French Education Minister Najat Vallaud-Belkacem said in a recent interview. Enditem
