Xinhua, December 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao held talks with Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi Emirate of the United Arab Emirates(UAE), on deepening bilateral cooperation on Monday morning.

Li described the UAE as an influential country in the Middle East, noting that China and the UAE are important partners.

China-UAE relations have had sound development since the two sides forged diplomatic relations in 1984, Li said, calling on the UAE to participate in the China-proposed Belt and Road initiative.

Li said he hopes the two sides will strengthen political trust, enhance cooperation in energy, industrial capacity, finance, technology and people-to-people exchanges to promote a bilateral strategic partnership.

Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his willingness to participate in the Belt and Road initiative to deepen pragmatic cooperation.

Prior to the talks, Li held a welcoming ceremony for the crown prince, who is paying an official visit to China from Dec. 13 to 16 at the invitation of Li. Endi
