A man shot dead in police operation in London

Xinhua, December 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

A man was shot dead in an "intelligence led operation" on Friday morning in north London, which is "not related to terrorism," the Metropolitan Police said.

Armed policemen carried out an operation in the area of Bracknell Close in London and at approximately 9:00 am local time a man was wounded by gunshots, the police said.

London's Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service were called. The police said the man had died and no other injuries were reported.

"We can confirm the police operation is not related to terrorism," the police twitted minutes after it announced the incident.

The Metropolitan Police is currently cracking down on gun and knife crimes in the capital, according to British media. Endi
