Xi congratulates Turkmenistan on anniversary of status of permanent neutrality

Xinhua, December 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday congratulated Turkmenistan on the 20th anniversary of the country's status of permanent neutrality.

In a message to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Xi extended his warmest congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan's status as a permanently neutral country recognized by the United Nations General Assembly.

Turkmenistan has adhered to its policy of neutrality on international affairs, and promoted friendly cooperative relations with all countries, making important contributions to regional and global peace and stability, Xi said.

China-Turkmenistan ties have maintained sound and rapid development since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. The two sides have deepened political mutual trust, cooperation and strategic coordination, Xi said.

China attaches great importance to its relations with Turkmenistan and is willing to work with the country to deepen cooperation in various fields so as to benefit the two peoples, Xi said. Endi
