Liu, Zhang claim national aerial freestyle skiing titles

Liu Zhongqing and Zhang Xin won the men's and women's titles respectively in the 2015/2016 Chinese aerial freestyle skiing championships on Friday in Aershan, a city of northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

   The 30-year-old Liu, from Heilongjiang Province, had been a bronze medal winner in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. Today, he won the men's event for adults with the highest score of 117.71 points.

  The 2013-2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup winner Zhang, from Liaoning Province, claimed the gold medal in the women's event for adults with the score of 95.18 points.

   Starting on Thursday, the three-day national championship is a preliminary competition for China's 13th National Winter Games.  Endi
