64.7 pct of Albanians aged 15-64 years active in labor market

Albanian National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) informed on Thursday that the number of employed in Albania aged 15-64 years in the third quarter of 2015 was 1,063,692 persons.

According to the survey findings, the number of unemployed of the same age group is 226,281 persons.

During the third quarter of 2015 in Albania, the unemployment rate for persons aged 15-64 years was 17.5 percent, whereas the unemployment rate for persons aged 15-29 years was 32.3 percent.

INSTAT informed that 64.7 percent of Albanians aged 15-64 years is active in labor market, either employed or actively looking for a job. The employment rate for population aged 15-64 years is 53.3 percent.

Compared to the same period on the previous year, for the population aged 15-64 years, the number of employed persons grew with 20,634 persons, the number of unemployed grew with 6,695 persons, whereas the number of persons out of the labour market (inactive) dropped with 25,252 persons. Endit
