Singapore stocks close 0.44 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 12.73 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 2,848.46.

A total of 990.4 million shares changed hands with turnover of 879.0 million Singapore dollars (626.4 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 262 to 114, while 550 others finished unchanged.

The STI index was down 14.84 points, or 0.52 percent, to close at 2,861.19 on Wednesday. Enditem
