Xinhua, December 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

The annual inflation rate in Albania in November reached 2.1 percent, compared with that of 1.7 percent in the previous corresponding period, an official data showed Wednesday.

Albania's Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November 2015 reached 118.5 percent, compared with that in December 2007, Albanian National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said.

Food prices rose by 5.9 percent in November compared with that of the previous year, according to INSTAT.

Vegetables had the highest price increase, with 35.6 percent compared with that of the previous year. Fruits price and the living cost also increased by 13.9 percent and by 2.3 percent respectively.

However, clothes and shoes witnessed the sharpest price drop, together with energy, rents and transportation prices.

The higher price in alimentary products influences mostly the economy of poor families. According to the World Bank, Albanians' expenditure on food takes 70 percent of their monthly revenues. Endi
