Terror rumormonger detained in central China

Xinhua, December 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese police have detained a college student in central China's Henan Province for spreading rumors about terrorist strikes on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization prime ministers' meeting in the province next week.

The student, surnamed Xu, is alleged to have posted messages on instant messaging app QQ including "500,000 U.S. dollars will be awarded for setting off an explosive device in the subway or near the central business district."

Xu will be detained for 10 days for disturbing public order, said the police.

The meeting will be held in the provincial capital Zhengzhou on Monday and Tuesday. Endi
