Pakistan condemns deadly attack on Afghanistan's Kandahar airport

Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the deadly attack on Afghanistan's Kandahar Airport that left at least 37 civilians killed and 18 others wounded.
In a press release, the Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan stated that the government and people of Pakistan stand by the brotherly people and the government of Afghanistan in their hour of grief.
The office conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery of the people who got injured in the attack launched by militants in the city.
"Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,"the office stated.
About 14 Taliban fighters armed with suicide jackets, rocket launchers and guns took control of two buildings near the civilian part of the Kandahar International Airport late Tuesday.
The attackers, who were disguised in army uniform, fired several rocket propelled grenades towards the airport vicinity. The airport's operations were suspended since the attack started.
The sporadic clashes took place throughout the night, leaving 10 militants and 37 civilians killed. Endit
