Four former officials from north China's Shanxi Province are being investigated on suspicion of accepting bribes, according to a statement released by the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on Wednesday.

They include Liu Xiangdong, former member of the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and head of the committee's discipline inspection group, and Yin Xiping, former Party chief and director of the traffic management bureau under the provincial public security bureau.

The other two suspects, who have also been arrested, are Liu Suiji, former director of Taiyuan city's public security bureau, and Tian Zhiming, former Party chief of Xiangyuan County.

Prosecutors in Shanxi have been tasked with investigating them, the SPP said. Endit
