Tokyo shares end lower by break on overseas losses

Tokyo shares ended the morning session sharply lower Wednesday following weak performances in the overnight U.S. and European stocks market.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average plunged 211.14 points, or 1.08 percent, from Tuesday to 19,281.46.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 14.04 points, or 0.89 percent, to 1,554.69. Endit
