Platini appeals against 90-day FIFA ban

The suspended UEFA president Michel Platini pledged to "tell the truth, only the truth" when he attended a Court of Arbitration for Sport(CAS) hearing on Tuesday for an appeal against a 90-day FIFA ban.

   Platini hopes to lift his his provisional suspension and allow him to attend the 2016 European Championship draw in Paris on Saturday. It would also allow him to get back into the election for a new FIFA leader on Feb. 26.

   "I want to tell (the judges) more than what I told you (the media)," Platini said.

   Platini has been questioned on accepting 2 million Swiss france (about 2 million US dollars) from FIFA in 2011 for the work did a decade earlier.

   Platini and Blatter face possible life bans before the FIFA ethics committee at the governing body's headquarters in Zurich next week.  Endi
