Xinhua, December 8, 2015 Adjust font size:
China has published files from the war crimes investigation into the Nanjing Massacre ahead of the national memorial day for the atrocity.
The 15 files are just a small selection of the 2,784 which the Nanjing Provisional Municipal Council compiled between July and November 1946 and which have been listed on the Memory of the World Register by UNESCO.
"They include a detailed list of casualties, different types of crimes committed by the Japanese army, names and addresses of witnesses who could be called to testify, and a detailed account of the atrocities," said Wang Han, deputy director of the Nanjing Municipal Archives.
The files can be viewed on the archives' website as well as Weibo and WeChat social media accounts.
China will mark the 78th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre on Dec. 13. Endi
