Tokyo shares end lower on concerns over plunging oil prices

Xinhua, December 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo shares ended trading Tuesday lower as concerns over plunging oil prices in the global market shadowed the buoyant sentiment brought by positive revised Japan's July-September gross domestic product data.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average tumbled 205.55 points, or 1.04 percent, from Monday at 19,492.60, a roughly three-week closing low.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 16.48 points, or 1.04 percent, to 1,568.73.

Decliners were led by mining, oil and coal products, and iron and steel issues.

The turnover was about 2,109.3 billion yen (about 17.13 billion U.S. dollars). Enditem
