3rd LD Writethru: At least three injured in blast at bus stop in central Moscow

Xinhua, December 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least three people were injured on Monday in a blast reportedly caused by a firecracker at a bus stop in central Moscow, local media reported.

According to preliminary information, a self-made firecracker thrown by an unidentified person from the window of a passing car or a nearby building might have caused the blast, TASS news agency said, quoting local police department spokesman Andrei Galiakberov.

Two women have been hospitalized, and a man with minor wounds was receiving medical treatment on the scene, TASS added.

However, the Sputnik cited the Health Department as saying that there were four people injured. Three were treated in a hospital and the fourth with minor wounds refused hospitalization.

The blast site has been cordoned off, and investigators are there to determine the cause of the explosion. Enditem
