Portuguese energy company EDP to extend wind farm in Texas

The Portuguese renewable energy company EDP Renewables North America closed a long-term deal on Monday to extend the Hidalgo wind farm in Texas, the United States, bringing it an additional 150 MW of power.

In a statement sent to the Portuguese Stock Market Regulator (CMVM), EDP Renewables said the new deal will bring an additional 150 MW of power to be sold to American business partners.

According to the company, the construction of this new park in the United States will start next year.

EDP Renewables has been developing wind farms since 1996. Endit
