1st LD: 7 paramilitary troopers, civilian wounded in Indian-controlled Kashmir attack

At least seven paramilitary troopers of India's Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a civilian were wounded after militants attacked their convoy in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

The attack was carried out near Bijbehara town of Anantnag district, about 44 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

"Today in the morning militants attacked our convoy with gunfire near Bijbehara, wounding several personnel," Asish Kumar Jha, spokesman of CRPF in Srinagar told Xinhua. "The wounded CRPF men were immediately removed to hospital for treatment." Endit
