1st LD Writethru: 2 injured in twin blasts in NE India

Xinhua, December 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least two persons have been injured in twin explosions that rocked the northeastern Indian state of Assam's capital Guwahati Saturday, a senior police official said.

"The bomb blasts happened in Fancy Bazaar area in the heart of Guwahati. The area is a popular trading hub. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital," he said, on condition of anonymity.

Local TV channels reported that the explosives may have been kept in a garbage dump in the market, but police have not yet confirmed the precise location of the blasts.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official said, adding that cops are scanning the footage of the closed-circuit TV cameras installed in the area to get leads. Endit
