Albania publishes book on Xi's quotations from classic Chinese works

Xinhua, December 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

A book on Chinese President Xi Jinping's quotations from classic Chinese works was published for the first time in the Albanian language.

Chinese Ambassador to Albania Jiang Yu presented the book at a ceremony held here Wednesday, saying China has developed a complete system of thought and culture in a historical process that lasted thousands of years, boasting an immense collection of profound classic works.

President Xi, who is good at drawing wisdom and strength from China's excellent traditional culture, has a habit of quoting classic Chinese works to expound his thoughts of governance, Jiang said.

The book collects the classic sentences Xi has quoted since the 1980s and explains the backgrounds, sources and interpretations of the sentences, covering such topics as the Chinese dream, reform, anti-corruption, administration of officials, study and self-cultivation, Jiang said.

She said that through this book, readers will learn not only the thoughts of governance owned by contemporary Chinese leaders but also their roots.

In April 2015, China and Albania signed an agreement to translate each other's classic works, Jiang said.

She hoped that the publishing circles of the two countries will deepen cooperation and publish more works so that the two peoples can share more excellent cultural achievements and further bilateral friendly relations.

Albanian Culture Minister Mirela Kumbaro praised the fruitful cultural cooperation between the two countries, noting that Ambassador Yu has given fresh impetus to such relations. Endi
