Stephen Curry scored 40 points in three quarters as the Golden State Warriors beat the Charlotte Hornets 116-99 to extend the best start in NBA history to 20-0 on Wednesday.

Stephen Curry hit 10 of 11 shots from the field and scored 28 points in the third quarter, including five three-pointers to help the Warriors enjoy a 21-point advantage and he sat out the entire fourth quarter. Klay Thompson scored 21 points and Festus Ezeli added 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Warriors interim coach Luke Walton said of Curry, "He knows the ball's going in before the rest of us. He's doing an amazing job of picking his spots. He's in his hometown, and he's the best player in the league, and he wants to put on a show."

"It was a cool atmosphere to play in. It was a good night. I can't ask for more. To play like I did and get the win was special," Curry said.
