China headlines Rio 2016 trampoline test event

Chinese world champions Li Dan and Gao Lei will headline a world-class field at the Rio 2016 trampoline gymnastics test event in April, organizers said on Wednesday.

Li and Gao won their respective women's and men's competitions at the world championships in Denmark last Sunday, earning them an automatic berth at the Olympics in August.

The rest of the competitors will vie for a limited number of Olympic places, according to Rio2016.com.

The Aquece Rio test event will be staged from April 16 to 24 at the Rio Olympic Arena.

The women's draw features competitors from China, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, USA, Russia, Japan, Portugal, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

The men's competition includes China, Belarus, Russia, New Zealand, USA, Australia, Ukraine, Switzerland, Britain, Canada, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil. Endit
