Bangladesh's Nov. forex reserve reaches 26.40 bln USD

Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserve reached 26.41 billion U.S. dollars at the end of November, said a central bank official on Tuesday.

The Bangladesh Bank official who preferred to be unnamed said the country's foreign exchange reserves stood at 26,407.63 million U.S. dollars on Nov. 30 after reaching 27.06 billion U.S. dollars in October.

The country's foreign exchange reserves on Aug. 17 touched the 26 billion U.S. dollars mark for the first time.

Bangladesh, with a population of about 153 million, needs a reserve of about 10 billion U.S. dollars to meet its import bills for three months in light of an internationally accepted standard. Endit
