Singapore stocks close 0.50 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 14.32 points, or 0.50 percent, to close at 2,870.26.

A total of 994 million shares changed hands with turnover of 1.02 billion Singapore dollars (728 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 219 to 150, while 564 others finished unchanged.

The STI index moved down 3.18 points, or 0.11 percent, to close at 2,855.94 on Monday. Endit
