Suns bench combine for 51 points to beat Raptors

Xinhua, November 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Phoenix Suns bench scored 51 points in the team's 107-102 victory over Toronto Raptors in NBA action on Sunday evening.

With the win, Phoenix snap a four-game losing streak and improve to 8-9 on the season.

"Our bench was really good," said Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek following the game. " I thought Mirza (Teletovic) and Jon Leuer gave us a huge lift."

Teletovic scored a season-high 20 points including 6-for-7 from beyond the arc, while Leuer chipped in with 16 points.

In total, Phoenix's bench outscored Toronto's bench 51-25.

Entering the game, the Suns bench ranked in the top-five in most offensive categories.

The bench ranked fifth in points per game (39.6), third in field goal percentage (45.8 percent), third in three-pointers made per game (4.3) and third in three-point percentage (41.8 percent).

In the victory over Raptors, the team exceeded their average in all four categories, shooting 56 percent from the field and 53 percent from beyond the arc, leading to 51 points and eight three-pointers.

The bench will need to continue to produce at this high rate as the team continue their longest road trip of the season with six games. Phoenix will play five games in a seven day period, beginning Tuesday.  Endi
