Tokyo shares open lower on soft Japan industrial output

Tokyo shares opened lower on Monday as investors locked in recent gains due to a soft data released the day on the country's industrial output in October.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 121.38 points, or 0.61 percent, from Friday to 19,762.56.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 11.06 points, or 0.69 percent, to 1,583.39. Endit
