Japan's industrial output up 1.4 pct in Oct.

Japan's industrial output rose a seasonally adjusted 1.4 percent in October from the previous month, the Industry Ministry here said Monday.

The index of output at factories and mines stood at 98.8 against the base of 100 in 2010, the ministry said in a preliminary report.

The index of industrial shipments rose 2.1 percent to 98.8, while that of inventories was down 1.9 percent at 111.4, according to the report. Endit
