At least 17 people were killed and several others were injured in a suicide bomb blast Saturday in Cameroon's Far North Region, a military source told Xinhua. KABUL -- About five Islamic States (IS) affiliate militants have been killed in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar, the country's Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

"Personnel of 4th Brigade of Afghan National Army's 201 Saelaab Corps fired several rounds of heavy weapons on IS or Daesh hideouts in Shaddel area of Achin district, Nangarhar province over the past 48 hours. As a result five members of IS group were killed," the ministry said in a statement. (Afghanistan-IS)

RAMADI, Iraq -- A total of 42 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed and 28 were wounded on Sunday in clashes with Iraqi security forces and air strikes by Iraqi and U.S.-led coalition aircraft in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a provincial security and medical sources told Xinhua.

Fierce clashes erupted between Iraqi security forces and allied paramilitary units, known as Hashd Shaabi, and IS militants in Mudheij area in east of the IS-held provincial capital city of Ramadi, leaving at least 12 IS militants killed, the source said on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-IS)

ANKARA -- Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Sunday that the body of the Russian pilot was brought to Turkey, and would be handed over to Russia.

The body of the pilot, who was downed by two Turkish F-16s on Tuesday would be prepared in accordance with Orthodox tradition before being handed over to Russia, Davutoglu said in Ankara Esenboga Airport before his departure for the EU-Turkey Summit. (Turkey-Rassine Jet Downing) Endi
