Ex-director of religious affairs gunned down in W. Afghanistan

Unknown armed men gunned down the former director of Hajj and religious affairs of the western Nimroz province, Sayed Nazir Sadat in the provincial capital Zaranj on Saturday evening, police said Sunday.

According to police, Sayed Nazir Sadat after offering prayer in a mosque was on way to home when two men riding a motorbike gunned him down and made their good escape.

No group or individuals have claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

In a similar incident, Taliban militants, according to police after kidnapping a former district chief in the southern Uruzgan province hanged him up on a tree Friday night. Endit
