Russia women win gold at European Curling Championships

Russia beat Scotland 6-4 to capture the gold medal at women's European Curling Championships, in western Denmark's Esbjerg on Saturday.
After blanking the first end, last year's silver medallists Russia opened their account in the second when skip Anna Sidorova drew her last stone into the house to score two points. But Scotland's skip Eve Muirhead scored two points to tie the game at 2-2 in the third end.
And then, with the scores tied again at 3-3 in the end of first half, Sidorova drew to score one point and take a lead 4-3 in the sixth end. After a blank end the Russians played a double take-out to score one point and increase the lead 5-3 in the eighth end.
However, the Scots fought back in the ninth, scoring one point to reduce the Russian's lead to just one point at 5-4. In the 10th end, Sidorova used the last stone of the game to score one more point and claim a 6-4 win.
Finland took the bronze medal after beating host Denmark 10-8 on Friday. Endi
