FC Barcelona remain four points clear at the top of the BBVA Primera Liga on Saturday night after their 4-0 win at home to Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid's 1-0 triumph at home to Espanyol.
Barca kicked off the day with a comfortable victory against a side coached by former Barca midfielder and B-team coach Eusebio Sacristan thanks to two goals from Neymar, one from Luis Suarez and one from Leo Messi, who netted in the last minute of the game.
The win ends a magnificent week for Barca who have scored 14 goals in their last three matches, conceding just one in return.
Antoine Griezmann scored after just two minutes and 28 seconds for Atletico Madrid at home to Espanyol and it was game over in the Vicente Calderon in the game between two sides which had been dubbed the "Chinese derby" in Spain due to Wang Jianlin's 20 percent stake in Atletico and the recent purchase of Espanyol by the Chinese Raster group.
Espanyol failed to muster a single on shot on target during the 90 minutes, while Atletico were content to trust in their rock solid defense until the final whistle.
Malaga coach Javi Gracia must have thought his side were on their way to a much needed win when Charles and Pablo Fornals put his bottom of the table outfit 2-0 up against Granada. However, Tissone's red card opened a door for Granada who made it 2-2 with late goals from El Arabi and Ruben Rochina.
Las Palmas' upturn in form under Quique Setien came to an end as they lost 2-0 at home to Deportivo La Coruna as a result of David Simon's 19th minute own goal and a late effort from Lucas Vazquez.
Finally Noliito had luck on his side as a clearance from Sporting Gijon keeper Ivan Cuellar rebounded off him into the back of the net to give Celta a 2-1 win.
Fabio Orellano had put Celta ahead after 15 minutes but Sporting had looked to have earned a point after Carlos Castro took advantage of an error from Celta keeper Sergio to score. End
