Belarus eyes to lift ties with India to strategic partnership level

Xinhua, November 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Belarus hopes to lift ties with India to the level of strategic partnership, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said on Friday.

Belarus traditionally considers India as the priority of its foreign policy, not only in Asia but also globally and sincerely strives to develop that cooperation further, Kobyakov said while meeting with Indian ambassador to Belarus Pankaj Saxena.

The prime minister said that Belarus and India will get a 20 percent growth in mutual trade in 2015, that's about 0.5 billion U.S. dollars.

He also said Belarus hopes to increase shipments of potash fertilizers, engineering products to India and will welcome the arrival of Indian pharmaceutical companies on its market.

The two countries will also boost cooperation in education, science and technology areas, he added. Endit
