Xinhua, November 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

German police have arrested two people suspected of belonging to an Islamist extremist group before launching a raid on a mosque in Berlin's inner city on Thursday afternoon, local media reported.

No weapons or other dangerous objects were found after police acted on a tip-off that an attack was being planned at the mosque in Charlottenburg, a western district in the German capital, according to the Tagesspiegel newspaper.

The two men were nabbed in southeastern part of the city in a separate police operation, according to the report.

Meanwhile, the police found a car which is believed to belong to the two suspects. The car would be shortly examined by forensic experts, according to the report. Enditem
