Syrian intelligence reportedly kills man linked to Beirut bombings

Xinhua, November 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Syria has killed a man suspected of transporting suicide bombers involved in the Nov. 12 Beirut bombings, the pan-Arab al-Maydeen TV reported Thursday.

Abdul-Salam al-Hindawi was killed in a joint operation involving Syrian security apparatus and the Lebanese Hezbollah group, the report said.

At least 44 people were killed in the suicide bombings in Lebanon.

The Islamic State (IS) terror group has claimed responsibility for the twin bombings that rocked the predominantly Shiite district of Burj al-Barajneh in southern Beirut.

Lebanon has arrested a number of Syrian and Lebanese nationals suspected of involvement in the bombings. Endit
