Gordon Hayward scored 14 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Utah Jazz to a 102-91 victory over the Clippers in Wednesday night's NBA action.
The Clippers led the Jazz 23-21 after one quarter, with the teams being tied 45-45 at halftime. The Clippers fell behind by as many as nine points in the third quarter, but came back to trail by five at 73-68 entering the fourth quarter. It got worse for the Clippers early in the fourth, with the Jazz beginning the quarter on a 6-0 run led by Hayward.
Derrick Favors added 22 points, Rodney Hood 13, and Rudy Gobert had 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Jazz topped 100 points for just the second time this season while ending a two-game losing streak.
"We just need to stay together, not get too down on ourselves, but we' ve got to change something," Blake Griffin said.
Griffin went 18-of-23 and finished with 40 points, two off his career high, and 12 rebounds Wednesday. Chris Paul added 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting with eight assists and five rebounds. But the rest of the Clippers, who fell to 7-8 with their seventh loss in eight games, combined to go 10-for-37 and struggled to stop Utah down the stretch in a loss to the Jazz.
The Clippers had not been beaten by the Jazz since Jan. 17, 2012, their longest winning streak against any opponent in franchise history. Endi
