Colombia's Santa Fe qualifies to Copa Sudamericana final

Xinhua, November 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Colombia's Independiente Santa Fe football team tied 0-0 with Paraguay's Sportivo Luqueno on Wednesday in Bogota, and made its way to the Copa Sudamericana final.

The match was contested at the packed Bogota's El Campin stadium on Wednesday in a breezy afternoon in which no goal was scored by the teams, but the adrenaline and tension of the players and fans could be noticed by distance.

Despite the results, the Paraguayan team was very close to score in the 22th minute by Marcelo Baez, but the ball went outside the goal.

Both teams had previously tied 1-1 in Paraguay, so the visitor's goal made the difference and led Santa Fe move to the finals.

The final match will be played against one Argentinian team yet to be confirmed, the current champion River Plate, or the surprising Huracan on December 2 and 9 in Buenos Aires and Bogota. Endi
