Macedonian birth rate falls 3.3 pct

The Macedonian Statistics Bureau on Wednesday said the numbers of births in the country in the third quarter of 2015 was 6,081, reducing by 3.3 percent compared to a year earlier.

The number of deaths in the third quarter of 2015 was 4,514 including 41 infants, which represents a year-on-year increase of 0.5 percent, Macedonian International Agency reported.

The data shows a 0.6 percent increase in the number of marriages, with a total of 4,432 marriages registered during this period, whereas the number of divorces grew by 19 percent to reach 482.

Macedonia's current population is 2,125,982, where 50.1 percent is male and 49.9 percent female. Endit
