British PM "concerned" about reports of Russian warplane being shot down

Xinhua, November 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday expressed his concern about reports of a Russian warplane being shot down by Turkey.

In a press briefing, a Downing Street spokesperson said: "Clearly the Prime Minister is aware of the reports of what happened this morning.

"There is now, obviously, an investigation to try and establish exactly what happened this morning," the spokesperson added.

"Clearly any time any airplane is shot down in any part of the world that would be a concern. But let's pause until we understand the full facts of exactly what happened," the spokesperson said when asked about Cameron's response to the incident.

Cameron also spoke to Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu Tuesday and urged him to maintain lines of communication with the Russian side, according to Downing Street. Endit
