Car collision in E Finland kills one, seriously injures another

A 12-year-old girl was killed and her mother seriously injured after their car collided with a log truck in Joensuu in eastern Finland on Tuesday, local media reported.

According to the police, the collision occurred at around 8:00 a.m. (0600 GMT), when the passenger car turned left and slipped to the oncoming lane and collided with the log truck from the other direction.

The girl sitting in the front seat died from her injury immediately at the scene. The girl's mother, who drove the car, was seriously wounded and sent to hospital for treatment.

Police temporarily controlled the traffic on the road. Enditem
