ALGIERS -- Some 18 people died and 37 others wounded in a fire triggered by a gas explosion in southeastern Algeria on Tuesday, local media said.

HOUSTON -- A military helicopter crashed in central Texas State of the United States Monday afternoon, killing all four crew members on board.

TRIPOLI -- A car bomb hit the town of Msallata in western Libya on Tuesday, killing seven people and injuring at least nine, a security source told Xinhua.

ANKARA/DAMASCUS -- A warplane which violated Turkish airspace was shut down on the Syrian side of the Turkish border on Tuesday, Turkey's private NTV news channel quoted Turkish military sources as saying.
