Police operations in Brussels over with several arrests: local media

Xinhua, November 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

A series of police operations in the Brussels regions has finished, Belgian public radio La Premiere reported on Sunday night, with the federal prosecutor expected to give a press conference at midnight.

La Premiere said police raids occurred in central Brussels and the nearby districts of Molenbeek, Schaerbeek and Ixelles. The broadcaster said several arrests had been made.

Belgian TV news channel RTL-TVI said police operations had also taken place in Liege and Charleroi, both in the French-speaking Wallonia region of Belgium.

The Belgian federal police force asked media not to spread information about the whereabouts of police while the operations were on-going.
