Heads of Slovenia, Croatia discuss refugee crisis in Ljubljana

Xinhua, November 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Slovenian president Borut Pahor held talks with his visiting Croatian counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic in Ljubljana on Sunday, vowing to take joint efforts to deal with the refugee crisis, the local official media reported.

Pahor reiterated during the talk the need to take measures to limit the refugee flow on the Balkan migration route, telling his Croatian counterpart that Slovenia is looking to restore normal order on its Schengen border with Croatia quickly.

The pair agreed that the refugee crisis would feature prominently at the summit next Wednesday in Zagreb, which will be dedicated to international security issues, according to the report by Slovenian Press Agency (STA).

Both would like the joint declaration at the summit to conclude that measures for responding to the refugee crisis need to limit the flow on the Balkan route leading from Greece to Germany.

They agreed, according to the STA report, along with the refugee crisis, one of the security issues that is expected to be raised at the meeting in Zagreb is the fight against terrorism. Endit
